STRIKE A POSE is a weekly community ballroom practice space where you can learn, grow, and connect with St. Louis’ vibrant ballroom scene. Created By Josh Mugler & Mariah Ebony this initiative provides a free, supportive environment for both newcomers and experienced performers.
From classic vogue elements to runway techniques, our sessions honor the rich QTPOC history of ballroom culture while creating space for its future. Whether you’re working on your dips, perfecting your hand performance, or just curious about the scene, you’ll find your place here.
Josh and Mariah are respected figures in St. Louis’ ballroom community, bringing authentic experience and knowledge to each practice session. Their approach balances honoring traditional ballroom culture while creating accessible entry points for newcomers.
Each week, they guide participants through technique development, category exploration, and performance practice—creating a space where everyone from first-timers to seasoned performers can thrive.
We created this space because we needed it ourselves. Ballroom isn’t just performance—it’s family, history, and survival. We’re here to pass that on.
Ballroom isn't just about performance—it's about creating space where we can see each other fully. In that mirror, in that circle, we find not only our own power but the strength of our ancestors. Every dip, spin, and strut connects us to a legacy of resilience. I'm here to help you find your voice in that conversation.
